چکیده

Magnetic intermetallic compounds based on rare earth elements and 3d transition metals are widely investigated due to the functionality of their physical properties variety possible applications. In this work, we features electronic structure magnetic ternary gadolinium GdMn1-xTixSi, in framework DFT + U method. Analysis densities states moments ions Ti-doped GdMnSi showed a significant change depending contents Mn Ti. Together with moment, an increase density at Fermi energy was found almost all GdMn1-xTixSi compositions, which may indicate transport compounds. expected Curie temperatures above 300 K, revealed changes characteristics make system promising for use microelectronic

Magnetic circular dichroism in the soft-x-ray absorption spectra of Mn-based magnetic intermetallic compounds

We have investigated the magnetic electronic structures of PtMnSb, NiMnSb, Ni2MnSb,MnSb, MnAlGe, and Mn2Sb by soft-x-ray absorption spectroscopy ~XAS! and magnetic circular dichroism ~MCD! measurements in the Mn 2p core absorption region. Different degrees of the electron itinerancy of the Mn 3d states are discussed. The large orbital angular momentum of the Mn 3d electrons is revealed for MnSb...

Magnetic anisotropy in the cubic Laves REFe2 intermetallic compounds

In the past, the Callen–Callen (1965 Phys. Rev. 139 A455–71; 1966 J. Phys. Chem. Solids 27 1271–85) model has been highly successful in explaining the origin and temperature dependence of the magneto-crystalline anisotropy in many magnetic compounds. Yet, despite their high ordering temperatures of ∼650 K, the Callen–Callen model has proved insufficient for the REFe2 compounds. In this paper, w...

Driving magnetostructural transitions in layered intermetallic compounds.

We report the dramatic effect of applied pressure and magnetic field on the layered intermetallic compound Pr(0.5)Y(0.5)Mn(2)Ge(2). In the absence of pressure or magnetic field this compound displays interplanar ferromagnetism at room temperature and undergoes an isostructural first order magnetic transition (FOMT) to an antiferromagnetic state below 158 K, followed by another FOMT at 50 K due ...

Quadrupole Interactions in Rare-earth Intermetallic Compounds

A survey of the role played by the one-ion magnetoelastic and two-ion quadrupolar interactions on the magnetic and elastic properties of the rare-earth intermetallic compounds is given. These couplings are present in numerous systems and manifest themselves through a great variety of effects. The study of the multipolar interactions concerning the 4f shell has known a great development about ra...
